Years of floral design experience goes into each one of Fleurie’s floral arrangements.

🌎 Each year, Earth Day organizers assign a theme for the year’s activism efforts. This year’s theme is “Planet vs. Plastics.”

♻️Not many flowers or anything else goes to waste here at Fleurie headquarters. I re-use whatever I can, and avoid buying more ‘stuff’ and new items whenever I can,choosing to use what I have or buying second-hand. Any packing materials I receive get saved and used many times, for packing flowers for delivery and items I ship out. Cardboard goes on walkways between rows to reduce the weed population and help retain moisture in our sandy soil. Vases that clients return get reused. I make special note of the company when I get a package that is padded with recycled materials- and use that over again. The flats, pots and containers I use to start seedlings and plants all get used until they completely wear out

🌸 These flowers from the Fleurie garden, went un-sold, so they get made into bouquets for placing on our loved ones graves, delivered to a nurse’s station or to someone that just needs a flower pick-me up

Today is the anniversary of my dear mom’s birthd

Today is the anniversary of my dear mom’s birthday, she would have been 97 this year. She’s my reason I embraced gardening and a love of flowers at a very young age. Her mother was also an avid gardener. I still remember the plants she grew and the layout of her garden- Grandma Olsen passed away when I was about 17. The love and appreciation of flowers is in my DNA 🧬 🌱🌸💚

Mom was a natural at horticulture therapy; working at a mental health facility for over 30 years, teaching horticulture, pottery, leathercraft, home economics, needlework and more.
The Margaret Hudson statue was a birthday gift from family and former co-workers and friends for her 80th birthday.
Sweet photo memories-
Mom at work shoveling compost, working in the Bearded Iris garden; her garden at her home, which I helped design in the mid-80’s.
She adored my girls, Lauren @damnedelion_ and Camille @camigarzaclark, and created special fun places in the garden just for them to play in.
Mom and her cousin in 1932 posing with Bearded Iris for their birthdays. I still have that vase, and place Iris that was from her garden in it every year. Bearded Iris blooming today- soon to be in that vase!

This is my Memory Garden; filled with plants that have been with me since the 80’-90’s, decorative items since the 1990’s, and a few newer but meaningful plants like the Nicotiana and Helleborus

The bright red Acer palmatum ‘Oshio Beni’ was purchased in about 1985 and planted at our first house. When we moved to this home in ‘95, I dug it up and moved it too. After we took out an out of control bay tree nearby, it has thrived!

Freesias, sweet violets and a peony from my mom’s garden. Campanula from my sister’s garden in the 90’s; Oriental lilies planted as a memory of my wedding bouquet flowers. A Doublefile Viburnum planted for daughter Lauren. A Camellia planted for daughter Camille. Aspiditra from a friend’s garden. Columbine as a memory of my sister and her garden. A rabbit planter given by co-workers after my dad’s passing in 1990. A Hans Sumpf clay tree trunk made by my mom. In the 70’s…

It’s that time of year again- Helleborus will bloom through winter all the way I to spring if they are happy where they are growing. These are obviously happy plants! Happy to see some blooms after such a long spell of little to no blooms in the cutting garden

Happy New Year! I’ve been quietly working away on my spring flower offerings- waiting for the miracles to pop out of the ground, grow and BLOOM

I’m revisiting a hobby from my tween to 20ish years- stained glass. A sweet friend invited me to an ornament class and after that, drawn by the lure of those old supplies and many patterns I drew, I started experimenting with my old glass that’s been waiting in boxes in the garage since 1985 maybe??

It’s a different season of life, a beautiful season that is a privilege to reach, not all are so lucky.
I never forget the fact that it’s a privilege to grow old, and stay young at heart ♥️

Working with plants is part of me, part of my dna 🌱+ 🌸=😊 I’ve got plants in progress, and so many seeds, tubers and perennials waiting in the wings. They’ll all make beautiful offerings for spring flower arrangements and flower subscriptions.
